Day-by-Day Plan

Places to visit and what to do each day.

Day 1 - Arrive Entebbe

Meet and transfer to hotel, orientation briefing, and optional evening birding around hotel gardens. Recommended stay: Boma Hotel Entebbe, Protea Hotel Entebbe, or Papyrus Guest House.

Day 2 - Entebbe to Mbarara

Drive with Equator stop, lunch en route, and sunset walk/game viewing around Mbarara or Lake Mburo access zone. Likely mammals: zebra, impala; birds include weavers and lapwings. Recommended stay: Emburara Farm Lodge, Igongo Country Hotel, or Rwakobo Rock (routing dependent).

Day 3 - Mbarara to Bwindi

Scenic transfer through highlands with photography stops and community markets. Afternoon check-in and preparation for gorilla trek. Recommended stay: Buhoma Lodge, Mahogany Springs, Gorilla Mist Camp, or Bakiga Lodge.

Day 4 - Gorilla Trekking

Early park briefing and full guided gorilla tracking in Bwindi, with one-hour encounter. Afternoon rest, certificate handover, and optional lodge-area birding. Species may include black-and-white colobus and forest turacos. Recommended stay: same Bwindi lodge.

Day 5 - Bwindi Cultural Day

Batwa/community project visit, village walk, and optional waterfall trail. Great day for cultural storytelling and local craft shopping. Recommended stay: same Bwindi lodge.

Day 6 - Bwindi to Ishasha

Transfer through southern Queen Elizabeth ecosystem with chances to spot tree-climbing lions in Ishasha and open-savannah wildlife. Recommended stay: Enjojo Lodge, Ishasha Wilderness Camp, or Topi Lodge area.

Day 7 - Queen Elizabeth Game Drive

Morning game drive in Kasenyi/nearby sectors for lion, elephant, buffalo, Uganda kob, and birds of prey; afternoon rest or optional second drive. Recommended stay: Elephant Plains Lodge, Buffalo Safari Lodge, or Mweya Safari Lodge.

Day 8 - Kazinga Boat Cruise

Boat cruise on Kazinga Channel with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and dense waterbird life including kingfishers and pelicans. Evening sundowner at lodge. Recommended stay: same Queen Elizabeth lodge.

Day 9 - Transfer to Fort Portal

Drive toward Fort Portal through crater-lake scenery and tea estates. Afternoon viewpoint excursion and relaxation. Recommended stay: Turaco Treetops, Chimpundu Lodge, or Isunga Lodge.

Day 10 - Return to Entebbe

Travel back to Entebbe with stopovers for meals and souvenirs; airport drop-off or optional overnight according to your flight.
